Dear Parents and Carers,

The Annual General Meeting will take place on the 19th September at 19:00 in the school Bistro, in accordance with our constitution.

As we prepare for our upcoming Parent Council Annual General Meeting (AGM), we would like to invite both current members and anyone who may be interested in getting more involved to come forward.

The Parent Council plays an important role in supporting the school, representing the voice of parents, and working together with staff to enhance the learning environment for our children. This is a great opportunity to:

  • Contribute your ideas and experience.

  • Help strengthen the school community.

  • Take part in shaping projects, events, and initiatives.

How you can get involved:

  • Join the Parent Council – Everyone is welcome, whether you’re new to the school or a long-standing parent.

  • Just come along - You dont have to join as an elected member; you can have your voice heard and join in as many of our parent coucil regular attendees do. This let people dip in and out, with no commitment.

  • Stand as an Office Bearer – We have standing members for the roles such as Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary, however we very much welcome anyone who would like to also stand for these roles. (There is significantly more work involved in these roles and we would ask you to consider whether you have the time to give). The roles afford you no additional voice, but you can help others make thier voices heard.

Our current office-bearers roles:

  • Chairperson

  • Vice-Chairperson

  • Treasurer

  • Secretary

We are very much hoping that someone will step forward for the role of Treasurer as this role does need to be filled and is currenly looking like it might not be. Can you help?

There are no special requirements for Ordinary members and we encourage you to come along and find out more. As a member of the school’s Parent Forum, you are entitled to put yourself forward for membership of the Parent Council.

If you would like to put yourself forward as an office bearer, please send us a very short paragraph about yourself no later than the day of Monday 1st September (e.g. who you are, your connection to the school, and why you are interested in the role). This is a requirement of our constitution and will be shared ahead of the AGM to help parents/carers and the PC know a little more about you. This is especially important if there are several people looking to stand for a role.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Parent Council, you can make a note of interest or simply turn up to the AGM (or any meeting)

If you would like more information on what being a member of the Parent Council involves, please feel free to get in touch with one of the current members.

You don't have to be an elected member of the Parent Council to have your voice heard - Anyone can come along to to the AGM, or any of our meetings, and let us know what we can do better, or how you might be able to help us.

The AGM will be followed immediatly by our normal Parent Council Meeting, should time allow.

We look forward to hearing from you!
